<p class="isSelectedEnd">Join our multidisciplinary team for a sandwich year placement in embedded software, where you’ll contribute to the development of innovative technologies for healthcare devices.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Candidates can start between May–September 2027.</p>

<h3><strong>What we do</strong></h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Each project we undertake is different, and at the cutting edge of technology. This means we can't talk about much of our ongoing work, but here are some examples of completed projects that we are excited to share:</p>

<h3><strong>What you'll be doing</strong></h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">From day one, you’ll be part of our multidisciplinary medical development team, tackling real technical problems while receiving guidance and training from experienced engineers. You’ll gain access to designing and developing embedded software to a high standard. You will be part of a team developing<strong> </strong>technologies that can make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">During your internship, you'll likely: </p>
<ul data-spread="true">
<li>Design, develop, and test embedded software for complex medical systems used in diagnostic, surgical, implantable device, and drug-delivery applications.</li>
<li>Contribute to a wide range of projects that span the full software development lifecycle.</li>
<li>Collaborate with a multidisciplinary and supportive team, gaining exposure to systems involving electronics, optics, fluidics, robotics, and user-interface components.</li>
<li>Work with industry best practices such as continuous integration, automated testing and analysis, and model-based systems engineering.</li>

<h3><strong>What You Can Bring</strong></h3>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The most important technical skill for this role is <strong>programming in C</strong>.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">The following skills and experience are advantageous:</p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li>Experience with other languages such as Rust, Python or C++</li>
<li>Working in a team using version control (ideally Git) and peer code reviews</li>
<li>Contributing to open-source software</li>
<li>Unit testing or other verification techniques</li>
<li>Experience developing embedded software</li>
<li>Knowledge of electronics and controlling peripherals using interfaces such as UART/I2C/SPI</li>
<li>Signal processing and/or control theory</li>
<li>Data science and/or AI</li>
</ul>
