If you&#39;re a technically strong engineer who also genuinely enjoys growing the people around you — mentoring junior engineers, resolving friction before it becomes conflict, and building a team that does its best work — this role was written for you.&nbsp; &nbsp;We build leading scientific software used by researchers around the world, including the GraphPad, SnapGene, and Geneious product families. Our Product Operations team is responsible for the shared platform that powers all of it: identity, billing, licensing, marketing infrastructure, and the public-facing websites of our brands. We are part of Siemens, one of the world&#39;s leading technology companies.</p> <p><strong>In this role you will get to:</strong></p> <p><strong>Technical leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Propose and own technical architecture decisions, balancing pragmatism with long-term scalability</li> <li>Develop GraphQL and REST APIs and responsive front-ends using Node.js and React</li> <li>Build reusable, best-practice components and shared libraries</li> <li>Contribute to our multi-brand design system (Storybook) and Next.js-based web front-ends</li> <li>Help scale our SaaS shared services platform (identity, billing, licensing, and more)</li> <li>Own application performance and stability — monitoring error rates, reviewing system metrics, and leading the response to incidents</li> </ul> <p><strong>Agentic engineering</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the team&#39;s adoption of agentic engineering practices — using AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code) not just for productivity, but to rethink how we approach complex, multi-step engineering tasks</li> <li>Share learnings across the team and help establish best practices as this space evolves rapidly</li> </ul> <p><strong>People &amp; Team Mentorship</strong></p> <ul> <li>Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and 1:1 guidance</li> <li>Foster a psychologically safe team environment where engineers can raise concerns, ask questions, and grow</li> <li>Act as a constructive mediator when technical disagreements or interpersonal friction arise</li> <li>Collaborate closely with product managers and other team leads to align on vision and priorities</li> <li>Support and collaborate with the Siemens team on integration projects</li> </ul> <p><strong>We are looking for people</strong> with at least 10 year experience with at least 5+ years of experience building production web applications (full stack) and 3 in a mentorship/leadership role<br><br><strong>The key skills we are looking for </strong><br><strong>Core Engineering</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong Node.js skills and familiarity with the broader JS/TS ecosystem (npm, yarn, bundlers)</li> <li>Experience architecting and building REST and/or GraphQL APIs</li> <li>Advanced HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; strong TypeScript</li> <li>Hands-on experience with React and component-based architecture</li> <li>Familiarity with React frameworks such as Next.js or Gatsby</li> <li>Comfortable with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)</li> <li>Knowledge of modern deployment practices: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines</li> <li>Security-conscious: you think about auth, data protection, and attack surfaces as part of normal development</li> <li>Experience with application performance monitoring and observability …
